Every wedding is unique, just like the couple celebrating it.
I’m very obsessed with details and I always like to capture them at every wedding, because they give a much more personal touch to the final Story I’m telling, fully reflecting the style of the bride and groom in front of me.
Here are 10 creative ideas for detail photos that never fail during my shoots.
1. The wedding rings and engagement ring
Often my couples have distinctive wedding rings that reflect their style. I always like to take a creative photo of the rings in a meaningful context: posed on a book, amidst the meaningful elements of your bedroom, on top of the bride’s bouquet, resting on a vintage typewriter… There are many ways to make this photo creative. I also love taking a picture ofthe bride’s engagement ring, so make sure you have it with you that day!

2. The Bride’s bouquet
The bouquet is an essential part of the bride, so you cannot miss at least one shot of it alone. I also like to photograph it as the bride holds it in her hands and with the dress glimpsed in the background to bring all the elements of the bride together.

3. Details of the bride and groom’s look
During the preparation, pictures of the cufflinks, tie, jewelry, perfume and shoes should definitely not be missing, because every detail of your look deserves to be remembered in the future.

4. The Shoes of the Bride
A bride’s shoes are often an extravagant part of her look: especially those that are colorful or have writing on the sole must be photographed! Whether they are classic, modern or vintage, I like to dedicate a shot of them

5. Participations and coordinated image
The invitations, place cards, menus, and tableau de marriage are details that are often forgotten over time, but they are an integral part of the atmosphere of the wedding. The photos that capture them not only create a beautiful memory, but also tell the story of the care you put into organizing them. So I always carve out a few minutes to take them together with the setting or alone with the wedding rings.

6. The wedding rings during the ceremony
The moment when you exchange wedding rings is one of the most significant moments of the entire day, even for us photographers. My second photographer and I strive to capture both wide scenes and close-ups of your hands as you exchange rings.

7. The veil of the Bride
The veil is a romantic and super creative element that deserves attention in your detail shots. I always try to play with it to create unique photos, depending on whether it is made of lace or transparent fabric or has special spares. It can be used both in detail photos of objects and in single portraits of the bride. Also in couple photos it can give that touch of intimacy and creativity if both bride and groom are hidden under it.

8. The letters and promises of the Bride and Groom.
One of the most emotional and personal moments of a wedding is the exchange of handwritten letters or vows between the bride and groom. This intimate gesture encapsulates deep thoughts and feelings that will be etched forever. A photo that can never be missed in my visual narrative is the close-up shot of the letters with the focus on some of the written words, then the shot where one of the bride and groom reads them or holds them in their hands, and the overall scene where both are focused on the moment.

9. The table decorations
The mise en place is a detail that cannot be missed in my photos: whether it is minimalist or rich in detail, you always have to capture the flower arrangement, the place cards and the room as a whole. That is why I always carve out a few moments of the day for this type of shot.

10. Wedding cake and dessert buffet
The wedding cake and the little treats from the dessert buffet are an important part of your day. So don’t be surprised if I ask everyone to vacate the cake table a few minutes so I can take a nice picture of her alone before the cut – it’s definitely a memory you won’t want to lose!

Photo customization comes from the right choice of photographer
These ideas are the basis of my photo shoots, but the real secret to creative detail photos is to make sure they reflect who you are as a couple: so each of these shots is always unique and different for each wedding I photograph.
The right photographer is the one who can observe the scene around her, who knows you, and who can reflect the personality of your couple in her shots-this is always my goal for every wedding.
Here you can understand how to choose the perfect photographer for your day.
